PFLAG SACRAMENTO WELCOMES YOU
We celebrate diversity and envision a society that embraces everyone, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. Only with respect, dignity, and equality for all will we reach our full potential as human beings, individually and collectively.
Our mission is to build on a foundation of loving families united with LGBTQ people and allies who support one another and to educate ourselves and our communities to speak up as advocates until all hearts and minds respect, value and affirm LGBTQ people.
PFLAG provides opportunity for dialogue about sexual orientation, gender identity/gender expression, and acts to create a society healthy and respectful of human diversity.

OUTREACH & EDUCATION
Throughout the year, PFLAG members are invited to attend events (festivals, fairs, banquets, etc.) in order to provide resources on supporting the LGBTQ+ communities. Our pamphlets and brochures come directly from PFLAG National.
Our Speakers Panel is available to lead conversations for students & their families, faith-based organizations, conferences or at other events. The power of story-telling allows the audience to better understand and ask any question.
Our resource library features an extensive collection of books, video materials and literature that are available for loan at meetings. A few of our recent acquisitions are The Transgender Child, Outrage - The Movie, and Doin' Time in the Homo No Mo Halfway House.
Advocacy is a big part of the mission of PFLAG National, with members and supporters working to achieve LGBTQ equality through changing hearts, minds, and laws. PFLAG works at the community level, at the city and state level, and at the federal level to effect change so that people who are LGBTQ are safe and equal in their communities. One Voice Can Change the World: The PFLAG National Policy Guide and Advocacy Toolkit teaches about advocacy methods, ways to lobby, and PFLAG’s legislative priorities. This publication will also help you feel confident as you meet with your legislators, go to town halls, plan chapter events, advocate through social media, and more. Click here to take action.
